The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
